How to Prepare for Your First Play Party (Without Freaking Out)

So you've registered for your first play party at The 5710 — good call. Now your brain is doing the thing where it invents twelve scenarios at once. Take a breath. We've put together this guide so you can walk in the door already half-prepared.

Eat something real beforehand. A play party is not the place to discover you forgot to eat. Hydrate. Skip the third drink before you arrive — buzzed is fine, blackout is not, and our staff will gently send you home if you're past the line.

Know your hard limits and your soft maybes before you walk in. You don't have to share them with anyone you don't want to, but having them clear in your own head makes it easier to say a confident yes or no on the spot.

Wear something you feel hot in and can move in. Layers are smart — the playrooms run warm, the lounge runs cool. Bring a small bag with anything personal you want close: water bottle, phone charger, lip balm, your favorite toy.

Most of all: it's okay to just watch. Plenty of people spend their first night observing, chatting in the lounge, and going home without playing at all. That's not failure — that's a perfectly normal first visit.
